Ideally, we see the garden as an extension of the living room. After all, a well-landscaped garden must be enjoyed in both good and bad weather. An excellent method to achieve this is the use of a comfortable veranda. Cooking, eating and relaxing are activities we would like to accommodate here.
In the case of this project, the veranda has also become a wellness connection from sauna to outdoor swimming pool.
In the authentic district Hillegersberg - Schiebroek in Rotterdam, there stands a characteristic corner house from the year 1956. Although this home has a small-scale layout in its basics, it is strong in its character with a typical architectural appearance from Rotterdam.
Building new or rebuilding is a question that people often ask us. The location of this house fits perfectly with the lifestyle of our clients. That’s why they don’t want to leave this place. Only the house became a bit to small for this family so they needed extra space for the whole family for future years.
On the edge of the historic city Willemstad, we got the assignment to make a design for an extension on the ground floor of a detached house, build around the year 1950. The question from our client was to create a space where the required living areas are situated on the ground floor with a new, modern layout where they can enjoy they’re beautiful garden.
