Butcherstore Rotterdam

A new butcherstore in the Alexandrium shoppingcenter in Rotterdam with a completely new Dutch design concept!

Anyone who has been to the shopping mall Alexandrium Rotterdam knows the situation. A huge shopping plaza where crowds of people walk through every day to do their shopping and get a bite to eat.

From farm to fork
Along with the store managment we worked on a new concept for this butcher. The goal was to get people out of their hastily walk and let dwell on the essence of a butcher shop where the butcher can tell his story about his meat. It was very important that people actually break from the flow of people so they step in the store and view the assortment in peace. Once in the store you will find yourself right in the world of ‘Keurslagerij Barten’, a view of his own land, where the animals can graze in peace. The wooden structure and cladding creates a picture in which relationships can be established with farm life but still radiate an innovative contemporary image in the color palette wich is used.
