Butcherstore Winterswijk
A design concept for a butcher store with a rich history.
Around 1900; At the corner of the Verlengde Ratumsestraat and Zonnebrink was the old weaving facility situated, which may be considered as the forerunner of the textile factory Batavier. This building was later rebuilt in 1919 and eventually the butcher shop Wassink settled here.
Butcher Wassink, with his own special sausage, only works with the highest of quality and therefore works only with his own Winterswijkse cattle.
From 1919 three generations Wassink have successfully brought their knowledge and passion in the store and with the takeover by the latest generation it was now time for a new look in this butcher store. For AR it was important that the passion and rich history were part of the design. This then tells the story to each customer.
Through the use of materials and impressions on the wall there is much recognition with the farmers past, but in the contemporary design this store became a shop of the present.
