Villa Den Bosch

In Den Bosch we were given the opportunity to make a design based on a freestanding house from 1938 on a plot of approximately 900 m2. This property is situated on the south side of this characteristic city at the height of the river De Dommel. From the outside the house seems simple in its appearance, with a spacious garden on the north. On the inside a house with a spacious floor area spread over several smaller rooms.

The wish of our client was to give the house a more direct connection into the deep garden, on which several activities would merge better. The house has been given a transparent extension and there is also a swimming pool with guesthouse. In our design, the house has been stripped of its closed structure on the ground floor, but each part still has its own clear space. Thanks to the open connection, the family has much more interaction and there is a place for every activity. Whether this involves cooking and dining with friends or being able to separate from the rest by reading a good book in the seating area.

We also adjusted the house on the street side to give this 1930s house a stronger character and to give it a better connection with the other houses in the area.
